First Cabin Akihabara

CONCEPT

This is the first new construction project for First Cabin. The façade was created in sharp white grids and black boxes—a clear design that contrasts with the context of the Akihabara area, its energy and adornments. The grids are illuminated in blue at night, setting the building off in the dark, which enhances the building’s symbolic presence and creates a highly commercial façade for a hotel. The interior features different textures and colors, such as graphic elevator walls and large textiles in the lounge, to create an image of various cultures interacting in this area. The hotel aims to be useful for overseas visitors and business travelers as well by offering features such as male/female traffic lines and carefully considering the dimensions of each space, such as the reception area.
