1st Green Building Development Fund Project

CONCEPT

MExisting buildings designed for energy conservation through participation in a green building (*1) development fund organized by Showa Lease Co. for the purpose of obtaining BELS (*3)☆☆☆ certification or higher. A renovation project in which energy-saving design was carried out for an existing building. Utilizing the knowledge of our ZEB planner, we designed energy-saving renovations for three buildings in the first Green Building Development Fund project: the Nihonbashi Libra Building, the Gotanda U’s1 Building, and the Nihonbashi Ningyocho Square Building. The former two buildings were certified as ZEB(*2 ) Ready and BELS☆☆☆☆☆, and the latter one as BELS☆☆☆☆. Mainly by reinforcing the building’s thermal insulation and replacing the air conditioning and ventilation equipment and lighting fixtures with high-efficiency fixtures, etc., an environment was created in which people can live comfortably while reducing their utility costs as an energy-efficient building. Thorough on-site surveys were conducted to verify the energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the construction items, and the work was carried out in a manner that did not interfere with the tenants’ business operations, thereby improving the asset value of the building.

(*1) Green building: A building that has reduced its environmental impact through energy, water, air conditioning, etc. For the Fund, this refers to buildings that have acquired BELS☆☆☆ certification or higher.
(*2) ZEB: Net Zero Energy Building: A building that aims to reduce energy consumption in the building to zero while achieving a comfortable indoor environment.
(*3) BELS: Abbreviation for Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System, an evaluation and labeling system to determine whether a building is environmentally friendly or not.
