Aria Futakotamagawa

CONCEPT

This nursing home transformed the conventional image of it being a facility into a space where senior citizens can live actively and in health with support. The interior and exterior focused on a sense of seamlessness. The interior was designed elegantly, like a hotel, to create an area where time and the seasons can be experienced. Thin glass was used at the exterior to secure privacy from neighboring structures while gently incorporating the outer atmosphere within. The building blends into the Futakotamagawa townscape while bearing an understated but sharp presence.
